This teapot is made using local Koriyama clay.
TThe most distinctive feature is that it is made of a double structure that is fired in a completely sealed state.
When pottery is made with a completely
sealed double-layer structure, air remains trapped inside.
During firing, this air expands and destroys the shape of the product, preventing it from being fired into a beautiful shape.
At Asakano-gama, we solved this problem in 2001.
This pot is for one or two cups.
Normally, a tea cozy is used with teapots, but this pot retains its heat so that a tea cozy is no longer necessary.
